Easy as 1,2,3 Easy Summer Breeze progress

Hi

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend !

I am a little behind on my progress on my Easy as 1,2,3, Mystery quilt .  I have the 3 rows sewn together and that is about it.     We are having a garage sell this Saturday and we have been spending alot of time going thru things & pricing. Alot of work but it feels SO good to to clean thru things .

Well back to work !

Schnibbles Gentle Art quilt Little Black Dress quilt is a finish !

                             Just finished sewing my Gentle Art  for Sinta's parade !

                                   

                    "  Dancing after Dark " is going to be the name of my quilt !
                      Thelma came up with this name for me & I think it is just perfect !


I made mine using from my stash  of  2 Little Black Dress by Moda charms and Kona Bone for my background.  I also decided to add a large 4"  border . Finished size is  33" x 33" .  This will be a perfect size for a table topper :-D

Looking forward to the parade and seeing what fabric everyone else used for the cute quilt.

Happy Memorial weekend & Progress on Little block dress Gentle Art Quilt

                            Is everyone ready for Memorial weekend ?

                                      I  hung  Flag of Valor quilt in the dining room

                                          and my 2 Gallon crock that I just finished

 We always stay home on holiday weekends .     We hooked up the trailer again and left last Sunday for Pinecrest lake and stayed 3 nights  .  We had the lake & campground all to ourselves :-D  Fishing was not bad considering it was a full moon our last night there.

   I have been been working on my Schnibbles  Gentle Art quilt and finished sewing all of my blocks.  Just need to sew it together now .

Schnibbles Gentle Art quilt using Little BLACK DRESS

I'm joining a parade ... that is if it is not too late to join Sinta's  Schnibbles parade this month .

I have had these 2  little  Black Dress charm packs in my stash just waiting for the perfect quilt to come along and I found it !  I am using some Kona bone fabric for the background and the black floral for my border  that I also had in my stash ..

These are addictive and so fun to make . I have made only 8 so far but I am sure I can have this darling little quilt done by the end of the month.

EASY AS 1 , 2 , 3 LAYER CAKE MYSTERY FREE PATTERN SEW ALONG PROGRESS

 Just finished my homework for week #3 of   Doreen's   Aunt Reen's Place   EASY AS 1 ,2, 3, LAYER CAKE MYSTERY FREE PATTERN SEW ALONG !
 The quilt we are making for May is   " EASY SUMMER BREEZE "

I have my 6 1/2 " blocks all paired up and ready to go........

My homework this week was to  start sewing my blocks together .  I now have 21- 4 patch blocks and
42  flying geese blocks

  I am making my quilt from 1 layer cake of La Belle Fleur by French General  for Moda  and 4 yards of Kona white.   I just love the greens , the reds and

the blues in this fabric line

I am very excited to see what design Doreen has planned for us next Wednesday  with these wonderful blocks.  She is a amazing quilt designer so I just now this quilt will be Gorgeous !

                    Smoky is keeping me company in the sewing room as you can see ;-)

                 My Peonies are finally blooming , thought I would share a picture with you !

Camping on the beach at Capitola and progress on Easy Summer Breeze quilt

                                     Hope everyone had a Wonderful Mother's Day !!!

We hooked up our tent trailer last Wednesday and camped at New Brighton Beach  at Capitola , California.  Weather was just perfect !

      That is our truck & tent trailer at our campsite . It was so nice to be able to walk right over to the showers & bathroom.

 While there we went to Gayle's Bakery one morning for  coffee & a pastry .  WOW!  What a selection they had !

This was a table they had there ! Oh how I would love to have this table ;-D

Of course no trip is complete without going to ZELDA"S for Thursday Lobster night. Yes I ate this whole thing and it was only $12.99 !!!!!

We also drove down to Carmel 1 day for breakfast and I had a Lobster, crab & shrimp omelet ! Hmmmm!  

                                  I need to catch up on my Easy Summer Breeze quilt 
 

                    I have ironed all of my blocks and have started trimming them to 6 1/2" Square

Can't wait till Wednesday to see what Doreen has planned for us to sew thee together :-D

EASY AS 1 , 2 , 3 LAYER CAKE MYSTERY QUILT PROGRESS

Well... I finished my homework for week 1 of Doreen's  ( Aunt Reen's Place blog )  Easy as  1 , 2 , 3 Layer Cake Mystery and looking forward to this weeks homework ;-D 


Easy Summer Breeze " is the name of her Mystery quilt for the month of May and you only need 1 Layer cake and 4 yards of a contrast for background &  binding ! How simple is that ! The quilt will finish at 72" x 84" , just a perfect size to display for Summer .

So EASY !   All I had to do was sew the 10" square from my layer cake to my 10 "  background fabric around all 4 sides.

                          Now looks like this !  How easy was that :-)

                              I can't wait to see what she has planned for these !

Doreen ( Aunt Reen's Place blog ) is having a  Layer Cake Mystery free pattern Sew Along for the month of May !!!! Doreen has decided to offer a few monthly " Mystery Quilt " Sew-alongs using pre-cuts .  "
