Fall is in the air !

Fall is my favorite time of year and with the cooler weather we have been having and the kiddos back to school I just could not wait to start decorating with my fall quilts !

Here is my new quilt ladder with a few of my quilts . I am really enjoying this ladder.
So nice to be able to display my quilts by the season .

The oak leaves and acorns have been keeping us busy in the yard . They seem to be dropping a lot early this year .

Hampton Ridge BOM .... all 41 blocks done

Ta Da !

I am happy to say that I finished all 41 of my quilt blocks for HAMPTON RIDGE !

Hampton Ridge is a BOM Quilt you can see it HERE .  Month # 11 and # 12 are the finishing fabrics for this quilt.

Just look how much fabric I had leftover from this BOM . Very generous with the fabric !

Quilters are the BEST !!!!!

 I had 2 wonderful packages arrived this week !

Midwinter red fabric and a DJ block !!!!!!

 Doreen of  Aunt Reen's Place  Blog sent me this DJ block that she made for me !

It is A -13  Starlight Star bright . Just look at the amazing piecing she did making  this block!
For those of you that are new to my blog Doreen is making herself a DJ quilt in pink & browns and she is making me DJ blocks too.  You can see my DJ board  " MY SISTER'S MIRROR " on the side bar of my blog. I am the luckiest girl in the world to be able to have my very own DJ quilt !

Kathy  blog was so nice to send me this Midwinter Reds fabric she had in her stash.
Can't wait to make something with it

Hampton Ridge BOM update ... only 4 more blocks to go !

Just love the fabrics in these blocks with the gold, red and Chocolate brown

I have month #10 blocks fabric all cut out and I am ready to sit down and sew these last 4 blocks :-D

Hampton Ridge BOM month # 9 & # 10 has arrived !

Hi !

We have had a beautiful week here in the foothills of California

It has been in the low 70's and we have been getting some much needed rain !


Look what I got ;-)

I am happy to say that my Hampton Ridge BOM Month #9 and #10  arrived in my mailbox Saturday
These are the last 8 blocks I need to make for this quilt.  HAPPY DANCE !

 I have already cut out all of fabrics for Month #9   Love the gold fabric !

This is the stack of the 33 blocks I have made so far.

                                                  33 down and only 8 to go !

Midwinter Reds Cozy quilt is a finish

Hi !

Hope everyone had a great weekend !

I finished my Midwinter Reds Cozy quilt .  Happy Dance !

The quilt measures 43" x 43".

I had some leftover French general solid red 2 1/2" strips that I used for the thin red border and I had just enough of the floral for the outside border :-D

So this quilt top was made with only fabric from my stash .

I went to my local Ben Franklin store and found this perfect backing  fabric on their flat fold table for only $5.99 a yard . It is a Anna Griffin " Fleur Rouge " fabric !  SCORE !

I also found a 1/2 yard of the  my border fabric on Ebay  that I will use for the binding.

Now I am all set ;-)

South Lake Tahoe outdoor concert

I'm  Home :-D


Tuesday we went to South Lake Tahoe for a couple of nights with friends and went to the Journey and Steve Miller band outdoor concert at Harvey's that was Wednesday night

The weather was supposed to be rain & thunderstorms but as you can see by this picture it ended up being a gorgeous night
