Happy Memorial Weekend and Pinecrest lake

Happy Memorial Weekend ! 

 

We just got back from camping at Pinecrest Lake .

We packed up the tent trailer and spent 4 wonderful days of trout fishing & campfires  !

Walking on the beach was really nice because there was hardly anyone there. We had the whole campground and lake to ourselves

Fishing was good !!!!!

Our good friends  went camping with us and here they are in their new fishing boat !

This is their new Airstream trailer ! Wow is it nice ! Just like being at home !

 Now that I am home and am ready to get back to my sewing !!!

2012 Blogger's Quilt Festival & my quilt entry Chai Tea Batiks

I just love participating in the Blogger's Quilt Festival ! I am entering my CHAI TEA BATIKS quilt! This is the first quilt I have made using all Batiks and making curves. May I say I am hooked and can not wait to make another quilt using Batiks.

 I used the pattern  - AFTERNOON DELIGHT - TEA INSPIRED QUILTS BY  ELISA'S BACKPORCH DESIGN and use her 7 " & 3 .5 " Crazy curve templates.  These templates made this quilt very easy to make.

May Calendar Girl Finish Ladies Choice

 Doreen designed this border and she is calling it  " Ladies Choice " .  What a perfect block for the month of May and Mother's Day.  She is holding her cute little bouquet of flowers surrounded by May flowers .

Happy Mother's Day & Capitola Beach Vacation

Hi Everyone !
 We packed out tent trailer and spent the week at Capitola Beach , California  with our good friends  ! Walked the beach and went out to dinner and breakfast each day. There is a wonderful little place named " ZELDA'S " where we had our meals. Thursday night is LOBSTER night ! $11.99 for a whole Lobster and rice pilaf ! WOW! Carmel was only 35 minutes from our campground so we drove over there for breakfast one day. My girlfriend and I always share a meal and that morning we had a Lobster, Crab &  Shrimp omelet !

Our last morning we drove to this wonderful bakery and  we had a pastry and coffee! Just look at what we had to choose from ! I just had to take a picture of the 2 Mother's Day cakes and had on display.

 THEY ARE JUST THE CUTEST !

Grass Valley Quilt Show

I went to our local Grass Valley Quilt show just 10 minutes from my house Saturday  and I thought you might enjoy some of my favorite quilts there ! The first picture is what I bought at the show. The guild has a area where they have like a garage sell where all of the members sell there goods. I bought this lovely bag and 2 Evening Bloom quilts kits ! Score ! The quilt kits were only are you ready ... $25.00 each !

MAY Calendar Girl Redwork Block & 2 More DJ Blocks

 Here is my Sweet Little MAY CALENDAR  GIRL REDWORK  BLOCK !

 She is just so cute holding her little bouquet of May spring flowers !

As you know Doreen is making these wonderful Calendar girls for both of us and these amazing DJ blocks for me.  Every month she mails me a little package with my Calendar girl block  and DJ blocks. The DJ blocks are always a surprise for me because I never know what blocks to arrive !

New little project

I have been working in the garden alot but did find a little time yesterday to work on this little project.

A new  IPAD 2 COVER

I just need to sew on some velcro so that I can close it . Can you see my little green turtle charm ? I love turtles ever since I went snorkeling in Maui ! I am also going to sew that on the front of the sleeve . I want to make another one today using this rooster fabric from my stash for a b-day gift for a friend. I found the pattern tutorial on line  for a SUPER EASY BASIC IPAD 2 Cover Tutorial  HERE if you would like to make one too .
