4th of July and Camping

 Hi Everyone !!

I can not believe it that it has a month already since I have posted on my blog

Thought I would share with you what we have been up to :-D

I did start  decorating the house for summer with my quilts and wallhangings  .........

We went camping ( our truck & tent trailer are the second camping site )

Went to dinner one night and this was the view from the window
The Rock in Twain Harte , CA

Signs of spring everywhere

They were cutting down quite a few dead  pine trees.  SO Sad :-(   We have lost a lot of trees in California from bark Beetles that is caused from the drought

When we got home we decided it was time to sell our 19 year old tent trailer !
So we sold it and bought this Rockwood Hardside pop up trailer. We are picking it up today and can not wait to pack our home on wheels :-D

I have been working on a couple of quilt projects this last month...

This quilt is Stars and Stripes and is a Thimble Blossoms pattern that you can download for only $5
Such a fun and easy quilt to make !  Each block measures 15" x 11" .

I just completed all 15 blocks using Vintage Picnic fq's  and now just need to add my sashings and borders

The sashing and borders are going to be in this plaid aqua and I chose the Navy Blue plaid for my backing

I have been also making blocks for my Strawberries n' Cream quilt made with Fig Tree Strawberry Fields revisited fabric and only need to make 10 more blocks then I can start sewing this quilt together

Hope everyone is enjoying Summer so far.

Happy Sewing !

Sue

  1. We just bought a Rockwood pop-up too. Taking it on it's maiden camping trip in July! Love the patriotic quilts.

  2. I hadn't heard of a Rockwood pop-up. My DH keeps looking at teardrop trailers. (he is dreaming!) We camped a lot when we lived there.

Your flag quilt is DARLING! But oh gosh....the Strawberries line is a happy one!

  3. Such beautiful quilts set out for summer!
Both of your latest quilt projects are looking beautiful.
Congratulations on your new Pop Up Camper - I hope it gives you many years of enjoyment!

  4. It's great eye candy seeing so many of your patriotic and Summer quilts on display. I haven't been camping for a very long time. All of these new trailers and pop ups sure beat the tents and sleeping bags on the ground business. (I'm sure that's dating me) Have fun.

  5. I have not seen a camper like your new one. We used to have a tent camper many years ago. No air-conditioning unit and we quit using it after moving to a very hot summer climate.
I have not taken out my summer quilts. You have reminded me I need to do that or summer will be over and spring still out.
