What a week ! New kitchen & Auburn Quilt Show

 It has been on busy week !  They started work on our Kitchen Thursday and finished yesterday.  What a mess but all worth it.  We had the counters replaced  with Quartz , tile back splash , new sink and a new slide in range. 

  Saturday I went to the Auburn quilt show  and took pictures to share with you

                                           I just fell in love with this quilt. SO cute with the wagon and Tricycle  !

   My friend who went with me to the show bought this Trout kit and the picture below is the booth she bought it from.  

  Now I should have some time to SEW !   I have not sewn a darn thing for almost 3 weeks :-(   Time to dust of the sewing machine :-D

I am SO lucky !

It must be a lucky day !!! I was the VERY lucky winner of Candace's giveaway of Squash House quilts  last week ! These 2 wonderful patterns , a charm pack of Simply Color and a Antique Fair 2 1/2" squares . THANK YOU CANDACE FOR THIS WONDERFUL GIVEAWAY !!!!!

  

Also this fabric just came in the mail today !  I ordered 2  - 1800"s  Fabric Grab Bags from Homestead Hearth . 

 Isn't this fabric just gorgeous !  It is like Christmas , you don't know what you are getting till you open  it :-D

  It has been a very busy week for me.  We are getting ready to remodel the kitchen and went shopping for a new gas range Monday.  More to come when they start the remodel . Tuesday we went to South Lake Tahoe  and spent the night and came home Wednesday afternoon.  Today was dentist appointment , errands and I worked in the yard a little bit . Our daughter and her husband bought their first home and got the keys yesterday.  We are very excited for them ! We will be going down to help them ! Hubby will be helping them paint and I will be working on her yards and maybe a little cleaning for them .

           My phlox have started to bloom and the roses  leaves are all starting to appear

                           My red twig dogwood also just starting  get its new leaves too !

               It was 72 and sunshine skies today and my plants are loving it !

New furniture and garden

 Good morning !    We have been busy spring cleaning around here and I have done no sewing all week .  We had new living room furniture delivered a couple of weeks ago and that meant selling my couches , end tables and cleaning carpets before everything was delivered.  I sold my curio cabinet and the bookcase is where my curio cabinet used to be . My curio cabinet displayed all of my I my Williraye collection  I have collected over the years and I am selling them on Ebay , I have about 6 of them on Ebay right now . Both couches have 2 built in recliners in them . You might notice that the pillows are different on the love seat  and couch. The pillows have leaves similar to my slipper chair and they delivered me 2 brown pillows for the loveseat . I should be receiving the matching pillows next week.

 Weather has been gorgeous here in California and things are really starting to bloom

   Even Smoky has been enjoying the sunshine laying on the deck sunning

Country Charmer Quilt a Finish

            Just finished sewing my Country Charmer quilt together and I Love it !!
These blocks were so much fun to make and Lynn Wilder of  Sew'n Wild Oaks  tutorials and tips were SO helpful. Lynn is one of favorite quilt designers in fact I own all of her patterns.  You may look at this quilt and say to yourself it looks just like Lynn's quilt.  Well is does ;-)  I purchased this quilt in March of 2012 from the " In Between Stitches  " quilt  shop  that Lynn works at in Livermore CA.  Lynn personally put this quilt kit together and I just love the fabrics.

 This is the fabric I have chosen for my backing.  SENTIMENTS  by 3 sisters for Moda quilt fabric.

Now I get to sit back and enjoy seeing  all of the lovely  Country Charmer Quilts being  made  by all of you in the Quilt along  this year .
