First finish of 2016 SWEET AS HONEY QUILT

I first saw this  quilt &  pattern " WELDED" on  Sinta's blog here   and it was love at first sight.
The fabric is "Sweet as Honey " by Art Gallery and the free pattern here  is from the Fat Quarter Shop here.
The fabric came out over a year ago but I was lucky to find my fabrics online.

Welded is 61" x 79 1/2" if you follow the pattern   but I only made mine 60" x 60" because of lack of fabric plus it is a perfect lap size :-D

Here is a few close up pictures of this cute fabric:

Now to decide on my next quilt I want to make ;-)

Changing out my quilts for the New Year

All of the Christmas decorations and quilts are put away..

I hung my " NANTUCKET QUILT " in the dining room

And changed out all of my quilts on my quilt ladder

Even put out my Heart Wreath

My little heart quilt made with French General fabric is hung

Feels so good to have everything put away and the house back to the way it was :-D

Finished just in the nick of time.....

Hi Everyone...

I wanted to share with you what I have been working on since my last post..

The day before Christmas I was finishing a lot of last minute Christmas gifts...

piecing this VW Bug top  to make into a pillow for my daughters boyfriend

You see this is his car and I tried to match the color of it and the surfboard I made into the colors of the one he owns.  Sorry I did not get a chance to take a picture of the actual pillow.

I have also hand stitching the Vintage top for some very dear friends . They found this top in a box
that had been stored for many years  that was made for her husband when he was a very little boy and  they asked me  if I could make it into a quilt for them.

The fabric is a sort of heavy linen fabric and could not be machine quilted
so I hand stitched around all of the characters and the 2 red fabric  lines on each side.

We found this perfect 30's fabric for the backing & binding. I also made a quilt sleeve for them so that they could hang it. They loved it and now it will be preserved for many more years :-D

Then I also  made 3 Gingerbread Men & Cocoa Mug placemats

1 Christmas placemat  with a Gray mug and...

2 Christmas placemats with Green mugs ( One of the Green mug placemats was for my Grandson )

I want to Thank Nicole of   SISTER'S CHOICE QUILTS   for  the idea to make these
They were SO fun to make.

WISHING EVERYONE A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR !!
