The colors were perfect for her with that bit of  modern feel to it !

I just love the Quilting design that Mary helped me pick out for this quilt. As always she did a AMAZING job for me icing this quilt.

This quilt is going to be a Christmas Gift for my daughter Holly and I wanted a design with Holly in it.

Vintage Holiday Quilt Holly's Christmas Tree farm

Hi

Thought I would share with you what I have been working on ...

Vintage Holiday Quilt

I have been locked up in my sewing room making this quilt so that my quilter can quilt this for me before Christmas.  Just finished it this morning :-D

I made this quilt with Holly's Tree farm fabric.  It was love at first sight when I saw this fabric and just knew I had to make this quilt for my daughter Holly for Christmas. Won't she be surprised !!!
The pattern is Vintage Holiday by thimble blossoms

Here is a close-up of some of the ornaments I made for this quilt.....

and this is a close-up picture of the sashing & border fabric

I also celebrated my birthday  with family last Sunday and these were gifts from my daughters..

Just love this personalized picture for my sewing room !

I have been wanting one of these carts for sometime now.
Now I can keep my cutting area clear, I feel so organized  :-D

Wishing everyone a Very Happy Thanksgiving !!

Viola and around the house...

Sharing a finish with you today.

VIOLA !!

I finally figured out the stems for these blocks and did not appliqué like the pattern said.
I paper pieced them like Thelma had suggested . This top took me forever since I have had a head cold for the last 2 1/2 weeks.  Finally starting to feel better

My quilt top finishes at 40" x 40" and I have ordered the cream with cherries fabric for the backing and the green  polka dot for the binding .

While working on Viola our friend installed hardwood floors in our kitchen

and of course I had to get a new rug for the Kitchen Nook :-D

My Grandson Nico is growing SO fast.  He just turned 4 months old .

We are getting rain in California today and lots of snow in the Sierras .
It is much needed with this horrible 4 year drought we have been having .

HAPPY SEWING !!!

Viola is coming along and Fall ....

I just finished piecing my 4 Viola quilt blocks.
All that is left is making the 4 stem blocks and I can finish sewing it together.

The pattern has 16 blocks but I do not need a big quilt that is 82 1/2" x 82 1/2".
I am using Farmhouse Fig Tree fabrics.  It was love at first site when I saw this fabric line.

The trees are starting to change color and it is getting cooler.
When even have had a fire the last couple of days. Love this time of year !

We had 3 bucks hanging out in our front yard yesterday .
They know they are dafe here

We saw this fellow at a place in town we had lunch at. I thought he was pretty cool looking

We then went to the movies to see  " The Martian  " with  Matt Damon . I would highly recommend you go see this movie .

The Seams Sew Easy Seam Guide

Many of you have inquired about how the SEAMS SEW EASY SEAM GUIDE by LORI HOLT of BEE IN MY BONNET  RILEY BLAKE DESIGNS  is adhered to the sewing machine without tape .  If you looks closely at my picture you will see the clear circles attached underneath the guide in all 4 corners . These 4 double sided stick circles are included with the guide and easily keep the guide in place when you are sewing

Here is a tutorial on Lori Holt's blog explaining more about the SEAMS SO EASY SEAM GUIDE

I bought mine HERE
They come in 4 different colors.... RED, GREEN , AQUA  and PINK

I love mine :-D

The surface of this guide has a texture that holds your fabric in place so that it does not slide around

HAPPY SEWING !!
