Working on not 1 but 2 Spools quilts ...

Making some progress on my SPOOLS quilts !

The fabric I chose for my 2 SPOOLS quilts is : Fig & Plum by Fig Tree quilts and Petite Odile by French General. Cathy whose blog is Quilting on  Main Street  was kind enough to give me her cutting directions to make each quilt from just 1 charm pack. I already had the pattern but wanted my quilts to be a smaller wall hangings.  The finished size will be 28" x 30". All of my center spools are all sewn together. The Petite Odile on the right has the side strips sewn on and that spool top & bottoms cut out. These have been really fun to make.  Thelma is having a sew along for the SPOOLS quilt.  You should join the fun !  I am already thinking of more to make for gifts !  Who wouldn't want this SPOOLS quilt hanging in their sewing room !

I have not been home much this last week. I did go down to the Bay Area shopping and found my Mother of the bride dress, shoes, necklace , bracelet , earrings and evening bag. I am so glad that is done ! My daughters wedding is November 3rd . I can't wait ! I have not been able to finish my Spools quilts because I have been having problems with my desktop computer and now my mouse will not work on my laptop . When it rain it pours :-(

Hi! Hope everyone had a great weekend ! It has been HOT here ! We had a thunderstorm come thru her last night and again this morning so we are getting some relief. I went out this morning and cut my hydrangeas to dry . Also picked a bowl of tomatoes.

Sunday was devoted to getting caught up on my VINTAGE ROUGE BOM quilt blocks for Month #2 & # 3 . I finished 4 of the blocks #2 using the invisible machine applique method that Doreen taught me and may I say I LOVE IT ! I also finished sewing all 20 of my t-blocks for month #3. I am happy to say I am all caught up now. I also finished sewing my 3rd block for Swoon AND I started my SPOOLS quilt  but I do not want to post a picture till I have it done ;-)

A Fun Weekend ...

I'm back from a fun 4 day weekend ! We left Thursday with friends and we drove to Reno and saw the " MAN IN THE MIRROR " Michael Jackson musical tribute.  It was 107 when we were in Reno :-(  Friday morning we drove to South Lake Tahoe. Much cooler at the lake  :-)  We went to the Chicago / Doobie Brothers outdoor concert that night. Both were great shows !!   Saturday we drove around the lake  and had lunch.  We are so fortunate to only live 2 hours from this beautiful lake .

Once I go thru my mail and finish laundry I want to work on  finishing my Vintage Rouge BOM Blocks for Month #2 & #3.

WIP 2 Gallon Crock , Swoon & Vintage Rouge

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July !

This what I have been working on in between keeping busy working in the yard and watering the gardens. I can't complain though the hottest it has got is 86.

I have been working on my 2 Gallon Crock at night and sewing a Swoon block when I am not working on my  Vintage Rouge Bom , Calendar Girl each month and hope to work more on my Evening Bloom.

I have been saving my Rouenneries fabric by French general for sometime waiting for just the right quilt to make with it. I admired Thelma's Swoon blocks and how she made hers smaller in size . I just did not want to make 24" blocks plus I only had a jelly roll and layer cake of this fabric. Thelma was sweet enough to figure out the math for me so that I could make these 12.5 " blocks.

 THANK YOU THELMA !
So here is my progress so far.....
This is my first Wool project and I am loving it !

This is the pattern. Looking forward to adding the Geraniums !

Finished these 2 Swoon blocks

Plan on sewing this one together this afternoon

Lots of deer with their babies visiting . The babies are SO cute !
