Vintage Christmas quilt back from the quilter

Like most of you we have been busy decorating the house for Christmas...

My Vintage Christmas quilt is back from my quilter Mary of quilthollow

The quilting design is Forest and I just love the texture it gives this quilt

The pattern is Vintage Christmas by Erica Arndt.

The first I did when the mailman delivered it Saturday was to make a quilt sleeve and sew on my binding. Now I will have a warm cozy to quilt to keep me warm while I hand sew the binding on.

My Grandson got his first haircut Saturday morning and then went to see Santa that afternoon with his new big boy haircut. He is just growing too fast

My next post will be pictures of our home decorated

Happy Sewing!

Happy Thanksgiving ... Autumn Garden Quilt is a finish

Just finished piecing my Autumn Garden quilt just in time for Thanksgiving !

Autumn Garden is made with Chestnut fabric by fig tree and the pattern can be found at mtnrosedesigns on Etsy.

Today I am making pies , almond cake and hubby is making stuffing to take down to his brothers for Thanksgiving day.

Hubby is also cooking a turkey  today , making stuffing and home made cranberry sauce that we are taking down to my parents on Friday to celebrate with them and decorate their home for Christmas.
So yep you guessed it we will be having a Thanksgiving dinner 2 days in a row Yikes !

I have even started hanging some of my Christmas quilts and decorations and will share pictures with you in my next post

HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!!

Autumn Garden

On my design wall is Autumn Garden made with all Chestnut street fabric by Fig Tree.

All of my fabrics are cut and laid out the way I like it just need to cut the setting triangles and 4 end blocks and then I can start sewing this quilt together

                                                        Just loving these fabrics :-D

This wonderful pattern is by Mountain Rose Designs and can be found in
  mtnrosedesigns

Such a fun pattern and easy to read instructions !

Starting on the right the green is my inside border , the black floral is the outside border and the white with black polka dots is my backing fabric

Now to find time to sew this quilt together.

HAPPY FALL !!!

VINTAGE CHRISTMAS
Just finished sewing this quilt together and could not wait to share with you .
The pattern is Vintage Christmas by Erica Arndt.

I chose red Grunge fabric for the trucks and used Juniper Berry for the trees and borders

These  trucks are good size and I am even thinking about making a pillow !

The quilt sewn together before borders

Here is a close up of the 2 border fabrics I used ... just love those reindeer !

Camping trip getaway !

We went on our first maiden voyage with our new trailer a few weeks ago.
We had no internet signal in the mountains and I am just getting around to posting
these pictures .  It was actually nice to have no phone and computer .

We had the whole campground to ourselves and the weather was perfect !

The lake was beautiful but my goodness there is a lot of dead trees from the drought :-(

I was even able to finish binding a couple of small quilts

Happy Sewing !!!

Happy Fall !!!

Hi Everyone !!

Happy Fall !!!

We are having cooler nights and the maples are starting to turn colors...

Last Monday I fell off my small stool in the laundry room and broke my toe !
When I fell off the stool my small toe next to the baby toe caught the stool and bent all the way across
my middle toe  YIKES !  First thing I did was put  it back where it belong . Since then I have kept ice on it and kept it elevated .

Bad timing though.... Wednesday we had new carpet put in the entire house . Can you see all the furniture stacked on our back deck ???? This picture is before they removed the old carpet and padding . I have come the conclusion that the carpet installers have the easy job ;-)

My Strawberries 'n Cream quilt  arrived in the mail  from Mary @quilthollow and look at the Adorable mini Pineapple quilt she  surprised me with  :-D  Thank You Mary  I LOVE IT !!!

Here it is hanging off my front porch

In Love with this quilting !

This is the quilting design I chose is  "Alpine " I thought it looked like strawberry vines with flowers

Fortunately my bad toe is on my left foot so I was determined to sew my binding on this quilt ;-)
I also hung my beautiful Pineapple quilt to I can enjoy it while sewing !

Finishing a couple of UFO quilts

While it has been hot outside I have been able to finish 2 quilt projects

I finished piecing my Strawberries 'n Cream quilt designed by mtrosedesigns  and it is my quilters  YEAHHH!
I am very happy how it came out and the Fig Tree Strawberry fields revisited fabric is just gorgeous.

I was also able to finish SPOOKY Delights table runner
This was a free pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop and designed by Bunny Hill.
I used mostly fabric from my stash .

It is quilted and just needs binding

Just love this bat and witch flying across the moon

I chose this fabric from my stash for the backing

You know my love of gardening........Everything morning I go out to water and  see what needs to be snipped ;-)
