Red Velvet Quilt made with Black Dress 2 fabric

This is what I was  working on last week !

I fell in love with the Black Dress 2 fabric and knew I wanted to make a quilt with it.    I used 1 layer cake ,black grunge fabric for the black points and ivory grunge  to add to the the X blocks and border . Both from these are from this  line of fabric and really compliment the fabrics.

I have decided on this fabric for the border .  I have ordered it and it should be here soon . It is black with tan .

The pattern I used is RED VELVET by Thimble Blossoms . I have had this pattern  for some time and have been waiting for just the right fabric to use.

Maybe I should name this quilt BLACK VELVET !

Happy Sewing

  9. You have got to stop making such awesome quilts and posting about them!!! Thanks to you, my list of "to-do's" is about the length of a football field!
I vote for Black Velvet too... it is gorgeous! It's amazing what fabrics and colors can do to change to look of a pattern... if I had seen just the pattern, it probably would not have caught my eye. But seeing what you did with it... bravo! What will be the finished size after the borders?
