Berries & Baskets Flimsy is a Finish

                                                   Berries & Baskets table runner

I  Just finished  sewing it together   and I am happy to say that this UFO is a finish !  I did not make mine exactly like the pattern.
The pattern had you add another border of scrappy little blocks and it was 42" long . Way too big for my dining room table. Mine measures  18" x 38 " long .  I used a older black Thimbleberries fabric that I had in my stash for the background fabric  and some of my Jo Morton stash for the stars . Now to figure how I want to quilt this ?   I usually send my quilts out to be quilted so it is going to have to be something simple that I can handle ;-)

Saturday morning we went for our walk & then drove over to the Farmers Market .
I did not buy any fruit but I did purchase this Chinese lantern plant !  I have never seen one of these before and thought it was so unique !
                                               Isn't it just GORGEOUS!

  6. Well done! The table runner looks great. Your last picture brought back memories. My dad had Chinese lanterns growing in the garden when I was little. We girls thought they were so cool! They are easy to grow around here. I'm thinking I should look for one to plant outside in our garden!

  7. Love your basket table runner! Love the black fabric... The Chinese lantern plants are fun to grow... but they are invasive! You may want to be careful where you plant it, or in the coming years you will have chinese lanterns coming up with your special flowers!
