A few days at the lake

Just got home from spending a few days at Pinecrest Lake! It was beautiful weather and we had the lake to ourselves !

As you can see the lake is very low . They start draining this lake after Labor day weekend
Since they drain the lake we just fished off the docks where the boats are usually docked . We could see fish everywhere and caught 5 in less then 1 hour.
We usually take our trailer but decided to rent a townhouse this time . Good thing we did ! We were so surprised to see that the campground was shutdown because of the government shutdown .
I did take my Country Charmer quilt with me and I was able to finish hand sewing the binding on 2 sides .  I will be sure to post a picture as soon as I finish it

SO nice to be home .  Now I need to clean my house before I can even think about any sewing

  1. Score on the houseboat, Sue! And the Mister caught some pretty nice fish, too! I bet it was wonderfully quiet with the campground closed!

  2. What a wonderful place for Countey a Charmer to visit! It is a traveling quilt! Looking forward to seeing it's finish!

  3. Pinecrest Lake looks peaceful... a great place to relax, catch fish, sew binding on a quilt, and enjoy nature! Can't ask for more!!!

  4. I didn't know Pinecrest Lake was drained every year! Good to know. I'm looking forward to seeing your finished Country Charmer!

  5. Lovely place to have all to yourself. Great few days away.... with good fishing too. Oh... what happens to the rest of the fish when the lake is drained? Looking forward to seeing your new quilt.
