Organizing fabric in my Sewing Room

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE !

I have been going thru my stash and organizing my sewing room this week and thought I would share with you what I have accomplished so far.

This is a picture of the right side of my closet .  Starting with the top shelf the fabric basket has my French General  fabric in it , the blue zipper bags in the center has all of my civil war fabric and the white wicker basket has FQ'S

Second shelf 1 yard or more of fabric has been folded  on comic books boards that I had seen on Nicole's blog.     More about that in a minute :-D

3rd and 4th shelf are quilt projects
These comic book boards are the BEST !  I bought them on Amazon .  They come in a bundle of 100 .  Now I can look at my fabric at a glance . No more stacked fabrics !  When ever I needed a piece of fabric from the stacks I had the whole pile would come tumbling down.  My shelves are deep so I kind of made a U shape lining up the fabric.  The fabric on the right that is stacked is fabric backings .

This cupboard is just over my sewing machine area and these are my precuts

I have more fabric to organize but it sure feels good to have most of it done :-D

Country Charmer Quilt a Finish......

Hi!

Just finished sewing on my binding on my  Country Charmer Quilt  and I just could not wait to share it with you.
Hubby is kindly holding it up for me to take pictures

I am so very pleased with the quilting

Eileen of RobinHillquilts did this amazing quilting for me
I used this paisley fabric for the backing & quilt sleeve and found this wonderful plaid fabric for the binding.  I want to thank Lynn of Sewn' Wild Oaks for this wonderful Sew along !  I had SO much fun making this quilt !

A few days at the lake

Just got home from spending a few days at Pinecrest Lake! It was beautiful weather and we had the lake to ourselves !

As you can see the lake is very low . They start draining this lake after Labor day weekend
Since they drain the lake we just fished off the docks where the boats are usually docked . We could see fish everywhere and caught 5 in less then 1 hour.
We usually take our trailer but decided to rent a townhouse this time . Good thing we did ! We were so surprised to see that the campground was shutdown because of the government shutdown .
I did take my Country Charmer quilt with me and I was able to finish hand sewing the binding on 2 sides .  I will be sure to post a picture as soon as I finish it

SO nice to be home .  Now I need to clean my house before I can even think about any sewing
