My Christmas Eve Surprise

On Christmas Eve hubby and I were both given a envelope and a quarter
Our daughter  said this is for you and Dad

When we opened the envelope there was this card and a place to scratch off

WHAT A SURPRISE !!!!!

I am going to be a GRANDMA !!!

Then we were given this announcement card.
By this time I was still crying and trying to get over the shock ;-)

My Son in law sent me this picture last night saying this was his first purchase for the baby

We just found out that it is going to be a boy !
His due date is July 8th :-D

My daughter is already starting to register for things she would like for the baby.

She is going with this  Nautica theme but with a white crib  So Cute !

My head is already spinning thinking of things to make for my Grandson :-D

Baby Quilt is a finish !!!

Last night I finished sewing the binding on the baby quilt

So happy how it came out :-D

The Mom to be  colors for the baby room is Sage green And pale yellow and she LOVEs cats.
Do you know how hard it is to find fabric in these colors and with cats ???  I have been looking the last 4 months for fabric ! Yikes.

Mary of Quilt Hollow suggested this Lil Rascals fabric and it was PERFECT !

I did a simple stitch in the ditch around all of the blocks and connectors.

This pattern was just what I had in mind for her baby quilt. OFF TRACK by CLUCK CLUCK SEW

The baby shower is next Saturday the 24th .  Just in time :-D

Making a Baby Quilt

I have been working on this Baby Quilt this last week .
It started when I received a baby shower invitation for the 24th of this month.
The Mom to Be color's for the baby room are sage green , pale yellow and she loves cats.

I found this perfect fabric online " LIL RASCALS " it came out in 2012 and I was lucky enough to find a jelly roll online :-D

Quilt measures 42" x 50 "

Just look at these cute cats !

I used a wonderful pattern by Cluck Cluck Sew named " OFF TRACK "

I used a Kona White sashing I really think it makes the colors pop !
I have it all pinned and ready to machine  quilt

Look at this backing fabric and  stripe binding fabric I found

A New Year and New Project

Started my New Year by putting away all of my Christmas decorations  and took down my Christmas quilts .

I decided to hang my Chai Tea Quilt for this month and ......

Before I started another quilt decided I should start the New Year organizing my sewing room closet
