Stars and Stripes quilt is a Finish

As they say... Better late then never right ?

I finished sewing my binding on my STARS AND STRIPES quilt last night and even though it was not ready for the 4th of July I will still display it for Summer

Just LOVE the waves quilting that my friend Mary from quilthollow  chose for this quilt

 Mary sent me this picture of my quilt when she was quilting it ... look out the window and you can see her flag ;-)

  Oh Boy !!!  Look out, were about to have a walker on our hands !

Kaffee Fassett Wedding quilt is done

Just finished the binding last night on this Kaffee Fassett quilt for my Nephew and his wife to be that are getting married August 6th

 I have never worked with this line of fabric before and I am am very pleased how it came out

My friend Mary of quilt hollow chose this quilting design and it could not be more perfect !

I chose this words backing , thought it gave it a modern look.

Next is my Stars and Stripes quilt that I need to bind ;-)

4th of July weekend

I finished sewing my Stars and Strips Quilt together  just in time for the 4th of July !!
This is a Thimble blossoms pattern by Camille Roskelley and I used all Vintage Picnic fabric.
Such a fun and easy quilt to make

I also made this quilt for a wedding gift for my Nephew and his wife to be .
These fabrics  and quilt are out of my comfort zone but is totally their taste with the modern look with Kaffe  Fassett fabrics in the burgundy and purple fabrics

Both quilts are my quilters now and I will be sure to post pictures of both of them when I get them back.  Meanwhile I need to prepare my binding.

This is a very special weekend for our family...

My Grandson Nico turns 1 on July 4th and the kids are having a party on Saturday.

 As you can see Nico is getting ready for his big day and is trying on Party hats :-D

4th of July and Camping

 Hi Everyone !!

I can not believe it that it has a month already since I have posted on my blog

Thought I would share with you what we have been up to :-D


I did start  decorating the house for summer with my quilts and wallhangings  .........

We went camping ( our truck & tent trailer are the second camping site )

Went to dinner one night and this was the view from the window

Signs of spring everywhere

They were cutting down quite a few dead  pine trees.  SO Sad :-(   We have lost a lot of trees in California from bark Beetles that is caused from the drought

When we got home we decided it was time to sell our 19 year old tent trailer !
So we sold it and bought this Rockwood Hardside pop up trailer. We are picking it up today and can not wait to pack our home on wheels :-D

I have been working on a couple of quilt projects this last month...

This quilt is Stars and Stripes and is a Thimble Blossoms pattern that you can download for only $5
Such a fun and easy quilt to make !  Each block measures 15" x 11" .

 I just completed all 15 blocks using Vintage Picnic fq's  and now just need to add my sashings and borders

The sashing and borders are going to be in this plaid aqua and I chose the Navy Blue plaid for my backing 

I have been also making blocks for my Strawberries n' Cream quilt made with Fig Tree Strawberry Fields revisited fabric and only need to make 10 more blocks then I can start sewing this quilt together
